2 Teens Killed In Crash: Long Island Man Accused Of Driving Drunk, Wrong Way, Fleeing Scene

A man has been apprehended by authorities for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol and evading the location of a Long Island collision that resulted in the death of two young people during the night.

The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 3 in Jericho.

According to Nassau County Police, a 34-year-old male was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram on the southbound side of Route 106 (North Broadway) in the opposite direction when he crashed into a 2019 Alpha Romero four-door sedan carrying four teenage boys.

The crash resulted in the death of two 14-year-old boys who sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead at the scene.

The identities of the boys have not yet been made public.

The local hospital admitted the 16 and 17-year-old boys for internal injuries and they are now in a stable condition.

Police stated that following the first crash, the Alpha Romero proceeded to collide with a 2023 Volvo that was being utilized by a 49-year-old woman and a 16-year-old male passenger.

Minor injuries were treated on site and they were subsequently discharged.

Amandeep Singh from Roslyn, who was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram, was taken into custody and transferred to a nearby hospital due to minor injuries.

Singh is being charged with:

  • Aggravated vehicular homicide,
  • First-degree vehicular manslaughter
  • Second-degree manslaughter,
  • Leaving the scene of an auto accident with a fatality,
  • DWI
  • Two counts of second-degree assault.

An arraignment has been scheduled for Thursday, May 4th, at the First District Court in Hempstead for him.

The release of additional information about the crash by the Nassau County Police Department is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
