Police in Suffolk County arrested a man in Huntington Station last night after they observed him working outside of a bar wearing a full police uniform around 11:40 p.m.
Second Precinct Anti-Crime Unit officers were patrolling Broadway avenue in Huntington Station when they observed Eric Diaz wearing a police style uniform with a shield and duty belt that appeared to have a holstered firearm as he was standing outside of El Cuscatleco Bar, located at 137 Broadway, at approximately 11:40 p.m.
Diaz was placed under arrest at that time, and an investigation revealed he had a holstered taser with a imitation pistol, in his waistband, along with a knife, mace, and handcuffs.
Diaz, 46, of Brentwood was charged with Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, and Acting as a Security Guard without a Licenses.
He is currently being held at the Third Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, October 4.
