Brentwood Man Arrested for Promoting Prostitution
Following an investigation by the Hunman Trafficking Unit in Suffolk County, Suffolk County Second Precinct Warrant Squad Officers, arrested James L. Seccadanari, at his home on Caleb's Path in Brentwood on Monday night at approximately 9:30 p.m.
The investigation into Seccadanari began last fall when an arrest from a Highway Patrol stop, revealed that Seccadanari who was a former MacArthur Inn maintenance employee, was recruiting women for the purpose of conducting commercial sex work.
The MacArthur Inn was closed earlier this year, in conjunction with the Town of Islip after an investigation found multiple code violation.
Seccadanari, 49, of Brentwood, was charged with Promoting Prostitution 3rd Degree, a felony. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip on October 20.
Detectives believe Seccadanari recruited at least three women, and that there are more victims. Detectives are asking anyone with information on Seccadanri or other suspects to call the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit at 631-854-7512, or Crime Stoppers at 1800-220-TIPS.
