West Babylon Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Friend Sunday Afternoon
Suffolk County Police recently arrested a 49-year-old West Babylon man for allegedly assaulting and seriously injuring a North Amityville man. On Sunday afternoon Police received a call for an assault in progress at 187 Jefferson Avenue in North Amityville.
When police arrived they found a 45-year-old victim with suffering from a cut to the neck. 49-year-old Angelo Andrade of 15th street in West Babylon was arrested a short while later.
The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. Andrade also threatened another resident in the home with the knife.
Andrade was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree, 2nd Degree menacing, and 4th Degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was held overnight at the Third Precinct, and had a court date scheduled on September 22, at the First District Court in Central Islip.
