Nassau County Police Officer Seriously Injured in Car Accident in Lindenhurst Monday Morning

The Suffolk County Major Case Unit is investigating a motor-vehicle accident that seriously injured an on-duty Nassau County Police officer in Lindenhurst on Monday morning. 

A 57=year-old Nassau County Police officer was operating a 2010 Harley Davidson in Lindenhurst on Wellwood Avenue as part of a funeral procession when he collided with a 61-year-old driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra. 

The officer was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries. He remains in critical condition.
