4 Workers Busted Selling Marijuana Vapes To Minors At Suffolk County Businesses, Police Say

Accusations have been made against four employees of selling marijuana vapes to underage individuals at various businesses located in Long Island.

Suffolk County Police reported that they conducted inspections in seven smoke shops in response to multiple complaints received from the community on April 26th.

According to police, four out of the seven businesses that were inspected were discovered to be selling marijuana items to minors.

Nirvana Smoke Shop located in Huntington has received four citations since January 2023.

Gotham Smoke in Huntington received a citation earlier in January 2022, marking it as the second business to be cited.

Four employees have been arrested and charged with misdemeanors, including unlawful dealing with a child and criminal sale of cannabis.

Police identified them as:

  • Nader Ilyas, age 27, of Dix Hills; an employee of Nirvana Vape Shop on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington
  • Fazal Khan, age 44, of Brooklyn; an employee of Huntington Smoke Shopon East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station
  • Umar Majeed, age 40, of Brooklyn; an employee of Venom Smoke Shop on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station
  • Gerard Turnier, age 26, of Huntington Station; an employee of Gotham Smoke on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington

At a later date, the First District Court in Central Islip has scheduled the arraignment of all four individuals.

The police have confirmed that three additional establishments have upheld compliance.
