5 Who 'Wreaked Havoc' In $10K Theft Ring At Suffolk County Ulta Beauty Stores Sentenced
Five convicted thieves are serving time after admitting to their roles in a string of thefts at Ulta Beauty stores on Long Island.
A group of five individuals who were found guilty of participating in multiple thefts at Ulta Beauty shops in Long Island are currently serving prison sentences.
In total, the fragrances stolen by the group were valued at more than $10,000.
The office of the District Attorney disclosed on Friday, April 28, that the accused parties had admitted their culpability for offenses connected to the case.
Devonte Jennings, age 24, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny, a felony; sentenced to one year in jail.
Naikeya Terry, age 41, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony; sentenced to one year in jail.
Shamiqwa Dixon, age 28, of Coram, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny, a felony; sentenced to 1 ½ to three years in prison.
Tyjanea Weaver, age 23, of Wyandanch, pleaded guilty to petit larceny, a misdemeanor; placed on probation while case is still pending.
The fifth defendant, 26-year-old Asia Leaphart from Deer Park, allegedly confessed to prosecutors that she intentionally collided with two Suffolk County Police vehicles as she was attempting to escape the East Farmingdale store. This resulted in one officer experiencing injuries to their neck, back, and legs.
Having been charged with two felonies, Leaphart admitted to having committed second-degree attempted assault and third-degree grand larceny. Consequently, she was given a prison term of one year.
District Attorney Raymond Tierney declared in a statement that these persons acted in collaboration, causing chaos among companies throughout Suffolk County by unlawfully acquiring items.cross the entirety of Suffolk County by unlawfully obtaining property that did not belong to them.
He elaborated that they will persist in investigating and prosecuting individuals who are responsible for committing such quality-of-life offenses that pose a perilous threat to the welfare of their inhabitants and commercial entities.
If you steal the belongings of others in Suffolk County, you will face repercussions and be imprisoned.
