Drunk Driver Hits Long Island Home, Cocaine Discovered In Car: Police

Apart from being accused of driving under the influence, law enforcement officials also found what they suspected to be cocaine inside the vehicle driven by the person.

Massapequa was the location of the incident which took place on Wednesday, April 26th.

At 11 p.m., James Wheeler, a resident of Valley Stream, crashed his 2022 Ford Ranger into a house on Denise Street.

Upon reaching the location, the authorities apprehended Wheeler without any resistance and transported him for medical examination at a nearby hospital.

It was discovered that Wheeler had two plastic straws and a substance that seemed to be cocaine in his possession.

The police have confirmed that the home suffered no harm to its structure nor were any injuries reported.

Wheeler is charged with:

  • Driving while intoxicated
  • Driving while ability impaired by alcohol
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

His appearance is scheduled at First District Court on Thursday, June 8.
