Driver Arrested After Seriously Injuring Pedestrian in Motor Vehicle Crash in Patchogue

Suffolk County Police arrested a 24-year-old man from Patchogue early Sunday morning after he allegedly struck a pedestrian while he was driving without a license in Patchogue. 

Edison Jovanny Morocho Gonzalez 24, of Patchogue, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic southbound on Route 112, near silver street in Patchogue when the vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway at approximately 3 a.m. 

The victim, a 43-year-old man from Patchogue was transported to NYU Langone Hospital in in Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries. 

Fifth Squad Detectives charged Morocho-Gonzalez 24, of Patchogue with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for multiple warrants. He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip on August 17.
