MIDDLE ISLAND, N.Y. — No Body Starves Long Island is asking the community for help as the organization faces an urgent need for cat food and other supplies to continue caring for cats and kittens in need.

The rescue has put out a plea for donations, saying it is in dire need of cat food and essential cat-care items.

With kitten season placing additional pressure on animal rescues across Long Island, food can disappear quickly when volunteers are feeding multiple cats and kittens every day. Even small donations can add up and make a meaningful difference.

Cat Food Is the Biggest Need

No Body Starves Long Island says its greatest current need is canned cat food.

The organization is specifically requesting:

  • Fancy Feast canned cat food — any variety
  • Friskies pâté — any variety
  • Friskies shreds — any variety or flavor
  • Other cat food and needed cat-care items

For a rescue caring for vulnerable animals, having a reliable supply of food is essential. Donations allow rescuers to focus their limited resources on veterinary care, spaying and neutering, medications and the many other expenses associated with helping homeless and community cats.

Long Islanders Can Help

Members of the community who would like to contribute can send needed supplies to:

No Body Starves Long Island
148 Park Lane
Middle Island, NY 11953

Those interested in helping can also call 631-484-3085 for additional information about the organization’s current needs.

The rescue says any assistance is appreciated. Those who aren’t in a position to purchase supplies can still help by sharing the organization’s request with friends, family members, neighborhood groups and fellow animal advocates.

A Community Effort

Long Island’s independent rescues and animal advocates frequently depend on donations and volunteers to continue their work. When supplies run low, community support can make the difference between having enough food for the animals in their care and scrambling to meet their most basic needs.

A case of cat food may seem like a small contribution, but to a hungry cat or kitten—and the volunteers working to save them—it can mean much more.

No Body Starves Long Island needs help now. Long Islanders who are able to donate are encouraged to send cat food or other needed supplies, and everyone can help by sharing the request.
