High School Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Stalking Former Student

18-year-old women noticed her former Bay Shore High School art teacher, John Kennedy, following her from her house in Selden Thursday morning. The woman arrived at her destination, in Selden, where she called Police at approximately 10:40 a.m. 

Kennedy was arrested at his home in St. James at 4:10 p.m. 

Further investigation by Sixth Precinct Crime Unit Officers revealed Kennedy had a sexual relationship with the student when she was a 17-year-old senior last year. Kennedy was seen driving by the victim's house multiple times over the last several weeks. 

Kennedy has been charged with Stalking 4th Degree, and he was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 4. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this, or if you believe you were a victim of Kennedy, to call the Sixth Precinct Crime Unit at 631-854-8626.
