Man, Woman From Smithtown Killed After Convertible Crashes In Babylon

There was a fatal collision on Long Island during the late morning hours resulting in the death of two individuals.

The incident occurred in the town of Babylon on Sunday, May 14 at approximately 10:30 a.m.

In 2013, a custom assembly convertible was observed traveling in an eastbound direction along Ocean Parkway in the vicinity of Cedar Beach, but deviated from the road and collided with a guiding wire.

Daniel Fabrizio, aged 58 and from Smithtown, along with Diane Seghposs, also aged 58 and from Smithtown, both lost their lives due to injuries sustained in the accident.

The scene was responded to by the Forensic Identification Unit (FIU), Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU), and Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) of the New York State Police.

The state police are requesting individuals who saw or have knowledge of the incident to dial 631-756-3300.
