LI Man Arrested After Allegedly Posting Explicit Photo Involving Family Dog on Dating App, Authorities Say

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — A Long Island man has been arrested after investigators say he uploaded an explicit image to a dating application that allegedly depicted a family dog being subjected to a sexual act.

According to authorities, the disturbing image was reported to law enforcement after it appeared on the dating platform. Investigators traced the account and identified the suspect, leading to his arrest following an investigation.

Prosecutors allege the photograph showed the family’s dog being sexually abused. The man now faces multiple charges related to animal cruelty and other offenses stemming from the investigation.

Officials said the dog was removed from the home and placed in the care of animal welfare authorities, where it is receiving appropriate care and evaluation.

Law enforcement praised the individuals who reported the image, noting that prompt reporting of suspected animal abuse can help protect vulnerable animals and assist investigators in identifying offenders.
