🍕 Mineola’s Taglio Pizza Named One of America’s Top 50 by DoorDash

In a proud moment for Long Island’s culinary scene, Taglio Pizza in Mineola has been named one of the Top 50 independent pizzerias in the United States by DoorDash. The honor places Taglio among a select group of neighborhood slice shops celebrated for their quality, creativity, and community connection.
DoorDash’s 2025 ranking highlights standout pizzerias in five pizza-loving states—California, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan, and New York—based on thousands of customer reviews and ratings collected over the past year. Each winner operates fewer than 10 locations and has earned more than 1,000 reviews, making them true local favorites.
For owner Rob Cervoni, the recognition is both surreal and deeply meaningful. “To be listed alongside some of the biggest names in pizza—it boggles my mind,” Cervoni told Greater Long Island. “We’ve always focused on quality and community. This just confirms we’re doing something right.”
Taglio opened its doors in 2018, introducing Long Islanders to Roman-style pizza—a rectangular, airy, crisp crust topped with inventive combinations that rotate seasonally. The dough, fermented for days, delivers a light yet satisfying bite that’s earned praise from pizza lovers and critics alike.
This isn’t Taglio’s first brush with acclaim. The shop has previously ranked No. 3 in the U.S. in Italy’s prestigious 50 Top Pizza guide for slice shops, cementing its reputation as a standout in the national pizza landscape.
Located at 326 Jericho Turnpike, Taglio has become a destination for foodies across Nassau County and beyond. From classic margherita to bold creations like truffle mushroom or spicy soppressata, each slice reflects Cervoni’s passion for craft and flavor.
DoorDash described the winners as “neighborhood anchors, family traditions, and entrepreneurial success stories.” Taglio fits that mold perfectly—serving not just pizza, but a sense of pride and place for the Mineola community.
As National Pizza Month continues, Long Islanders have one more reason to celebrate their local slice scene. And for Cervoni and his team, the recognition is a reminder that great pizza starts with heart, dough, and a whole lot of dedication.
