Fatal Shooting on Long Island Leaves 20-Year-Old Dead and 4 Hospitalized; Suspect Remains at Large.
Police have revealed that following a shooting on Long Island, one person has died, at least four are injured, and a suspect is currently evading capture.
The incident occurred in Valley Stream on Monday, August 21st, around 8:23 p.m.
According to Nassau County Police, the shooter discharged multiple rounds toward a vacant storefront on 85 Ocean Ave. from 131st Avenue.
Police reported that the shooter escaped on foot in an undisclosed direction.
A 20-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, a 12-year-old was shot in the shoulder, and a 17-year-old girl suffered a hand laceration.
All three individuals were transported to a nearby hospital.
Tragically, at around 9:05 p.m. on Monday, the 20-year-old victim was declared deceased.
Shortly after, two additional teenagers, both aged 17, arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds to their legs.
The investigation is still in progress.
