Police: Man arrested for stealing from Roosevelt Field store; weapon recovered

According to the police, a man from Hempstead was apprehended for stealing from the Nordstrom shop at Roosevelt Field.

Christian Chavez, aged 20, was arrested by the police for shoplifting a pair of shorts, and subsequently, a gun was discovered in his possession.

Chavez is being accused of gun and theft offenses.

As previously reported by News 12, law enforcement officers recently increased surveillance and monitoring at Roosevelt Field shopping center due to a surge in criminal activity.
