**MILLER PLACE, NY** — A motorcyclist tragically lost his life in a crash in Miller Place on Wednesday night, according to Suffolk County police. The incident occurred around 9:55 p.m. at the intersection of Route 25A and Oakland Avenue. Police reported that the motorcyclist, riding a Suzuki GSX-R600 westbound on Route 25A, collided with the side of a 2017 Toyota Prius that was making a left turn onto Oakland Avenue.
The motorcyclist, Logan Vogel of Mount Sinai, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office. The 49-year-old female driver of the Prius, a resident of Sound Beach, was unharmed in the crash. No charges have been filed.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety inspections. Detectives are urging anyone with information about the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8652.
