16-Year-Old E-Bike Rider Seriously Injured in Hicksville Crash
Police say the teenager collided with a vehicle near West John Street and Strong Street Tuesday afternoon

HICKSVILLE, NY — A 16-year-old e-bike rider was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon following a collision with a vehicle in Hicksville, according to Nassau County Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. on September 15 near the intersection of West John Street and Strong Street.
Police said the teenager was riding an e-bike westbound on West John Street when he collided with a 2024 Hyundai that was traveling northbound in the area of Strong Street.
The 16-year-old suffered a serious leg injury as a result of the collision.
He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Police said the driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene.
The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation, and authorities have not announced additional details regarding the cause of the crash.
The incident comes as e-bikes continue to become a common sight on roads throughout Long Island, placing renewed attention on safety for riders and motorists who share busy streets and intersections.
