Tragic Multi-Vehicle Collision: 23-Year-Old from Selden Identified as Victim in Mount Sinai

The event took place just after 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, in the community of Mount Sinai.

The victim was riding a black 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle and was heading in the incorrect direction on southbound Patchogue-Mount Sinai Road. Tragically, at the intersection with Canal Road, he collided with a 2022 Honda CR-V, resulting in a serious accident.

As reported by the Suffolk County Police, after the initial impact, the motorcyclist then struck a 2018 Dodge Ram that was halted in the westbound turning lane along southbound Patchogue-Mount Sinai Road. This unfortunate sequence of events contributed to the severity of the incident.

When the responding officers reached the scene, they promptly initiated CPR and offered vital medical aid to Juarez-Bonilla, ensuring he received essential care in a critical moment. They continued their efforts until the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived a short time later to further assist and manage the situation.

Rony Juarez-Bonilla, a 23-year-old resident of Selden, was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital for emergency medical treatment; however, despite the efforts of the medical team, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Fortunately, the drivers of both the Honda motorcycle and the Dodge Ram were unharmed in the incident.
