Suffolk County Police are investigating a fatal hit and run accident which occurred early this morning at 1:52 am, on Horseblock Road at Express Drive North in Medford. A tractor trailer was traveling northwest on Horseblock road at 1:52 am, when it attempted to make a left hand turn. The tractor trailer was struck by a 2008 BMW as it attempted to turn. A passenger in the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the BMW described as a Hispanic fled the scene on foot. He was wearing a dark colored t-shirt, and tan shorts.
The other passenger of the BMW was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for serious treatment. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
