Notes from Rescue: Hi! My name is Angelisa, I am posting today about a very special dog that needs a loving home. Her name is Rosie. Her sad story began with being abandoned and dumped. A Good Samaritan found her and took her to receive much needed medical care. You see, Rosie is paralyzed. Her paralysis remains unknown. It could stem from a variety of reasons, she could have been hit by a car or it could be congenital. She uses a wheelchair as a means of getting about. Actually, she’s a little speed demon on wheels with a heart of gold! I should note that she can urinate and deficate on her own.

My husband and I took her in because no one else wanted to, and I have an affinity for senior and special needs animals. We have owned many over the years. I can honestly say that she is one of the most loving dogs we’ve ever had. It pains me tremendously to have to part with her, however, upon careful consideration, we decided this was the most beneficial thing to do for her. Unfortunately, our other dogs never took to her, and it is unfair and selfish to keep her in such an environment. We are constantly worried about a serious interaction between the three of them. Therefore, we keep her separated which has been difficult for us and them.

She deserves the world!! We love her dearly and this has left us with a very heavy heart!
She is about 2 years old, heartworm negative, and has been spayed. She is also up to date on her rabies and vaccinations. She is on Simparica Trio for heartworm and flea, tick prevention. I am hoping someone with a big heart and total dedication would be willing to either give her a permanent home or be a temporary foster until she finds one. SEARCHING for a RESCUE who truly 'walks the talk' of rescue, meaning healing the heart and soul of a frightened one that needs to know kindness, trust, realize that people are good and that he's so VERY worthy of all things good!

We have done the physical vetting. NOW, Prof. Sherlock needs emotional healing and being in a cage at a vet's clinic since January isn't the best place to get one on one heart and soul healing. And our vets are soooo compassionate and kind!

For me, this Cattle Dog mix (?), Prof. Sherlock is the MOST rewarding kind of soul to help. Someone who learns that YOU are good, kind, caring, compassionate and worthy of him trusting -it's incredibly priceless. It's that saying, 'who rescued who', saying that everyone says.

So many rescues want the perfect dog and perfection comes in many different packages and meanings. To me, Prof. Sherlock is the perfect dog, perfect Professor of Love to heal other's hearts while you heal his. When my first dog passed, I got involved with rescue and I chose a dog like Sherlock to foster. He was a master at healing my heart and he got his healed, too. Sigh......

Is there someone out there who is drawn to him and wants to change his world? Foster? You could hook up with a rescue and together be his heroes.

PLEASE CONSIDER! It's just heartbreaking that he waits and waits. All this time he could have been healing hearts.

Prof. Sherlock is:
2 to 3 yrs old.
44 ish pounds.
He is getting better around people, learning to trust, but needs more help.
He is afraid of other dogs - cowers. So if you have a kind, gentle, healing kind of dog -perfect! Dogs are the best teachers for other dogs!
His story is that he was hit by a car in Tijuana (where he still is). Being so afraid it took a few days to capture him, but kind people kept trying and had success. The guess is that he didn't know kindness before, but that's only a guess based on how afraid he is. The leg bone was exposed and he survived infection and became a tripod.

PLEASE consider being his hero? Ain't lookin for the 'average' rescue/person. Lookin for the extra special kind with a giant heart and who wants to truly 'RESCUE'.

I'm drinking too much, snacking too much, thinking of him - have some sympathy for Sherlock and me! He's breaking my heart . . .
