Student Sexually Assaulted At Gunpoint At Her Yale University Residence, Police Say

After awakening to a stranger pointing a gun at her, a student from Yale University was the victim of sexual assault.

On Tuesday, May 9 at approximately 2 a.m, an occurrence happened on Elm Street in New Haven at the 300 block.

According to the chief, the man committed sexual assault and then escaped from the residence.

The Yale New Haven Hospital received and admitted the victim.

Campbell stated that the New Haven Police are currently conducting an investigation, and the Yale Police are increasing the presence of patrols in the vicinity to help identify the perpetrator and support the New Haven Police.
