White Shark Tracking East After Pinging Off Hamptons Coast
It seems that a massive white shark has taken a liking to Long Island and New England and intends to remain there for some time.
Frosty has been detected in the Atlantic for a second time within a week and it appears to be making an eastward movement.
According to the non-profit organization Ocearch, Frosty was detected south of Hampton Bays at approximately 10:15 pm on Saturday, May 13. Frosty's measurements were 9 feet 2 inches in length and a weight of 393 pounds.
The first image above shows that on Sunday, May 21 at approximately 4:30 a.m., a new ping was detected in the area between Block Island and Martha's Vineyard.
On Thursday, Dec. 12, 2022, Frosty was initially spotted near Georgia's coast.
The shark in question is a type of Carcharodon carcharias, which encompasses species such as the white shark, white pointer, and great white shark. On average, great whites typically reach a length of 15 to 16 feet.
