According to authorities, a woman from Long Island committed a series of robberies where she assaulted and abducted her victims.

During a series of robberies, a woman from Long Island is alleged to have become aggressive, attacked, and abducted her victims.

According to officials, several individuals in Nassau County reported incidents that occurred in the fifth, sixth, and eighth police precincts. The reports stated that they happened after engaging with someone they had met through an online escort advertisement.

According to the Nassau County Police, April Summers who is 35 years old and resides in Farmingdale would ask for more money from the victims and if they didn't abide by her demands, she would rob, attack, intimidate and frequently abduct them. While driving them to the bank, she would force them to withdraw hefty amounts of money and hand them over to her.

Upon further investigation, Summers was apprehended and detained at the Floral Park Motor Inn situated on Jericho Turnpike. According to Nassau County Police, she displayed aggressive and contentious behavior in the process of resisting arrest.

Summers has been charged with:

  • Kidnapping in the second degree,
  • Robbery in the first degree,
  • Three counts of robbery in the second degree,
  • Two counts of robbery in the third degree,
  • Assault in the second degree,
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree,
  • Coercion in the first degree,
  • Three counts of coercion in the third degree,
  • Attempted grand larceny in the third degree,
  • Three counts of grand larceny in the third degree,
  • Strangulation in the second degree,
  • Three counts of unlawful imprisonment in the second degree,
  • Assault in the third degree,
  • Resisting arrest,
  • Harassment in the second degree.

She is due to be arraigned on Sunday, June 18 at First District Court in Hempstead.
