Elderly Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Hit by Porsche SUV on Long Island
An 80-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a Porsche SUV while walking along a road in Oceanside, Long Island, police said.
The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, on Lower Lincoln Avenue. According to Nassau County Police, the elderly man was walking westbound when he was hit by a 2019 Porsche SUV traveling south.
The driver, a 29-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Emergency responders rushed the man to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
As of Friday morning, Nassau County’s Homicide Squad is leading the investigation. No arrests or summonses have been announced, and police have not yet released the identities of those involved.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers.
The crash has reignited concerns over pedestrian safety in Nassau County, especially on roads with limited lighting or crosswalk access.
