15-Year-old Boy Arrested Monday Night in Selden After He Allegedly Stabbed His Grandmother and Mother

A 15-year-old boy in Selden was arrested Monday night after he allegedly fatally stabbed his Grandmother, and wounded his mother on Old Town Road in Selden. After being stabbed by her son, a 34-year-old female resident of 801 Old Town Road ran out of her residence, and at approximately 9:45 p.m.

A passing motorist stopped to offer assistance to the victim, and after getting into the vehicle the victim called 911 and police responded a short time later.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found another resident, Concetta Chendemi 56, inside the residence suffering from stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, by a physician’s assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The 15-year-old fled the scene after the stabbing, and was arrested by officers at 11:22 p.m. at Dare Road and Buckskin Lane in Selden.

Homicide Squad Detectives, who is not being named because of his age, with Murder 2nd Degree, and Attempted Murder. His first Court appearance was set for Tuesday April 8, at First District Court in Central Islip.
