Long Island Kicks Off a Packed 2026 Outdoor Concert Season

By Samantha Vogel, Editor – Long Island Daily News

Long Island’s signature summer soundtrack is back, and this year’s outdoor concert season is shaping up to be one of the most extensive in recent memory. From Nassau’s sprawling parks to Suffolk’s waterfront stages, hundreds of performances are scheduled through September, offering residents a chance to enjoy live music under open skies all season long.

Communities across the Island are rolling out lineups that span every genre—classic rock, salsa, Motown, reggae, country, pop tributes, and family entertainment—ensuring that no matter your taste, there’s a show waiting for you.

Nassau County: Big Stages, Big Names

Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Theatre once again anchors Nassau’s summer offerings, with a calendar packed with national acts, tribute favorites, and themed nights. The schedule includes everything from reggae showcases and classic rock reunions to a large-scale Independence Day celebration featuring fireworks and a drone show. Major performers such as Cole Swindell, Flo Rida, and ZZ Top are expected to draw some of the season’s largest crowds.

The Town of Hempstead’s Neighborhood Concert Series brings nightly music directly into local parks, offering residents a rotating mix of Motown, disco, pop, and classic rock. Valley Stream’s beloved bandshell series continues its tradition of weekend performances, while Oyster Bay’s Music Under the Stars features blockbuster tribute acts—including Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, and the Eagles—alongside family nights and community celebrations.

Suffolk County: Beachfront Beats and Community Favorites

Suffolk’s concert season stretches from St. James to Patchogue, with venues embracing the Island’s natural scenery. The Long Beach Pavilion in St. James hosts weekly shows ranging from Jimmy Buffett tributes to 90s throwback nights. Hoyt Farm in Commack offers a family-friendly series set against a nature preserve backdrop, featuring vintage rock, Allman Brothers tributes, and disco nights

Babylon’s Tanner Park and Overlook Beach remain hotspots for high-energy performances, including ABBA, Elvis, and Tom Petty tributes. Port Jefferson’s Harborfront Park and Showmobile series bring music to the waterfront throughout July and August, while Stony Brook Village and Nesconset continue their tradition of intimate community concerts on the green.

One of the season’s marquee events, the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue, returns with a four-day lineup featuring The Used, Sublime with Jakob Nowell, Gov’t Mule, Bruce Hornsby, My Morning Jacket, and dozens of regional acts across multiple stages.

A Summer Built Around Community

Outdoor concerts have long been a hallmark of Long Island summers, offering residents a chance to gather, relax, and enjoy the arts in shared spaces. With hundreds of performances scheduled across both counties, the 2026 season promises to deliver music-filled nights for families, friends, and fans of every genre.

Whether you’re spreading a blanket on the grass, dancing on the boardwalk, or catching a sunset show by the harbor, Long Island’s parks and waterfronts will once again serve as the Island’s biggest stages.
