Two Killed and Four Seriously Injured in West Babylon Car Accident Saturday Morning
Two people were killed and Four were seriously injured,early Saturday morning in West Babylon when a man driving on Great East Neck road, blew through a red light, and struck another vehicle traveling on Railroad avenue.
Michael Desmond 33, of Lindenhurst, was driving Eastbound in his 2017 Kia Sedan on Railroad Avenue when he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Great Neck Road. His vehicle struck a 2025 Kia Seltos traveling Southbound on Great East Neck road at 1:06 am.
Desmond was pronounced dead at the scene, and an 18 year old passenger in the Kia Seltos was pronounced dead at the hospital. Two 18 year old from Babylon, and a 17 year old from Babylon were transported to the Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A 16 year old from West Babylon was transported to SouthSide Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks, and Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the First Squad, at 631-854-8152.
