2 Teenagers Stabbed Near Huntington Station Fair; 1 Seriously Injured, Police Say

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — What was meant to be a night of summer fun turned violent Tuesday when two teenagers were stabbed near the Huntington Manor Firemen’s Fair, leaving one seriously injured and a community on edge.

According to Suffolk County Police, the stabbing occurred just before 9 p.m. on July 16 outside the fairgrounds on Oakwood Road. A large fight reportedly broke out among a group of teens near the event. During the altercation, two boys — ages 14 and 17 — were stabbed.

The 14-year-old suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition. The 17-year-old’s wounds were described as non-life-threatening.

Emergency responders from the Huntington Manor Fire Department, already on site for the fair, quickly rendered first aid until paramedics arrived — a move officials say may have prevented a worse outcome.

Police are actively investigating the incident and are working to identify those involved. As of Friday, no arrests had been made. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.

The Huntington Manor Firemen’s Fair, a long-running tradition in the community, is set to continue through the weekend. Organizers say they are working closely with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of all attendees, including adding extra patrols and security measures.

Residents expressed concern over the violence but praised the quick action of first responders.

“This is usually such a peaceful, family-friendly event,” said local resident Maria Santiago. “It’s heartbreaking that something like this happened, but we’re grateful for the firefighters who stepped in right away.”

As the investigation continues, police urge parents to talk to their children about staying safe in large crowds and avoiding altercations.
