🚨 TRAVEL ADVISORY: Exit 63N Ramp on Westbound Sunrise Highway to Close Overnight in Southampton

Motorists will be detoured to Exit 63S during overnight pavement work

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. β€” Motorists traveling on Sunrise Highway should prepare for an overnight ramp closure in the Town of Southampton this week, according to a travel advisory from the New York State Department of Transportation.

The Exit 63N ramp from westbound Sunrise Highway (State Route 27) to northbound Old Riverhead Road (County Road 31) will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, and is scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

🚧 Why Is the Ramp Closing?

According to NYSDOT, the overnight closure is necessary to facilitate pavement work.

Motorists who need to access northbound Old Riverhead Road should continue to Exit 63S and proceed through the interchange ramps to reach northbound Old Riverhead Road.

Drivers traveling through the area should allow additional time and use caution when approaching the work zone.

🌧️ Weather Could Affect the Schedule

NYSDOT said construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change based on conditions.

Motorists are also reminded to slow down and move over for highway workers.
