Itโs about to be โBo Timeโ again on Long Island. After years of absence, Bojangles, the iconic Southern chicken and biscuit chain, is preparing to open its first Long Island location in Farmingville, marking a major step in the brandโs aggressive expansion into New York.
๐ Farmingville Location in the Works
Plans have been filed with the Town of Brookhaven to build a Bojangles restaurant on Horseblock Road, just east of Route 83. The proposed site will also include a Panera Bread next door, with both restaurants featuring drive-thru service. If approved, the Bojangles will span 2,806 square feet, while the Panera will cover 3,315 square feet.
The twin proposals are scheduled for review at the Brookhaven Zoning Board of Appeals meeting this month. Local residents are already buzzing about the return of Bojangles, known for its crispy fried chicken, scratch-made biscuits, and legendary sweet tea.
๐ค Franchise Deal Signals Bigger Push
The Farmingville location is part of a broader franchise agreement between Hashimi Holding Corp., led by Jericho resident Habib Hashimi, and Bojangles Restaurants Inc. The deal includes plans to open up to 20 Bojangles restaurants across New York State, with Long Island serving as a key market.
Bojangles has been expanding rapidly in 2025, with 30 new locations already opened and 18 more planned before yearโs end. The company currently operates over 850 stores in 20 states, and aims to surpass 1,000 locations in the next few years.
๐๏ธ What to Expect
The Farmingville Bojangles will offer:
- Drive-thru and dine-in service
- Breakfast all day, including Bo-Berry Biscuits and Cajun Filet Biscuits
- Southern-style sides like dirty rice, mac & cheese, and seasoned fries
- Family meals and combo boxes for on-the-go dining
Local foodies and Southern transplants are especially excited about the return of Bojangles, which previously had a brief presence in New York before exiting the market.
๐ฃ๏ธ Community Response
Residents in Farmingville and surrounding areas have expressed enthusiasm about the new addition. โWeโve been waiting for something different,โ said one local shopper. โBojangles brings a taste of the South we donโt get here often.โ
The development also signals continued commercial growth along Horseblock Road, with new dining options and retail spaces drawing more foot traffic to the area.
