Police report that an under-aged individual of 16 years was found to be carrying a fully-loaded firearm while driving in an illegal manner on Long Island.
Multiple traffic violations were added to the charges against a teenager from Long Island who was arrested for being in possession of a firearm that was fully loaded.
According to Nassau County Police, a 16-year-old teenager from Williston Park was stopped for several driving violations while heading west on Hillside Avenue near Willis Avenue on March 28th, Tuesday, shortly before 2 a.m.
Upon being asked to leave the car, law enforcement officers noticed a protrusion in the teenager's jacket pocket, prompting them to conduct a more extensive inquiry. Following an investigation, the officers retrieved a 9-millimeter firearm that had been altered and loaded with ammunition.
Authorities reported that the adolescent was caught operating a vehicle without a license and utilizing a counterfeit Texas auto registration. The individual was apprehended without encountering any resistance and the vehicle was seized.
The charges against him include Second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, two charges of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and several violations of Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The adolescent is set to have their arraignment on Tuesday, March 28 at First District Court located in Hempstead.
