Wanted: Suspect Shot Teen In Shirley Over Pair Of Sneakers, Police Say

Authorities on Long Island are requesting assistance from the community in identifying and finding the individual responsible for shooting a teenager earlier in the year.

On Sunday, January 29th at 3 p.m., a young individual selling Air Jordan Black Cat sneakers through Snapchat encountered an individual outside of their residence, as per Suffolk County detectives.

According to the police, the adolescent had left his footwear inside the residence and had gone out to meet the individual. Subsequently, the individual brandished a firearm and instructed the adolescent to retrieve the shoes from the house.

After running into his house and shutting the door, the teenager was shot in the thigh through the door by the man.

The individual escaped in a silver sport utility vehicle.

The adolescent was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital to receive medical attention for injuries that were not life-threatening.

A monetary prize is being given by Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest.
