On Friday, the district sent a letter stating that Riverhead High School had to undergo a hold-in-place procedure following the discovery of a bullet.
According to the letter, a single bullet was discovered by a student in a school hallway and promptly reported to the building administration.
Furthermore, it states that another pupil approached the administrative staff of the edifice with a bullet that corresponded to the first one.
Subsequently, the Riverhead Police Department initiated an inquiry.
Access to the school was limited until the detainment of the student accused of carrying bullets. The district asserts that the student was not in possession of a weapon and was subsequently arrested by the police.
