Fireworks Injury 4 people in Port Jefferson Station Thursday Night
Four people were injured Thursday night in Port Jefferson Station when a Firework went astray and hit into people gathered to watch the display at a residence on Foxrun Court. The incident also damaged multiple cars on the block.
A large gathering of people were watching a firework display in front of 9 Foxrun Court around 10 p.m. when one of the fireworks that were lit went sideways, and hit multiple people attending the gathering. Two men, a woman, and a girl were injured, and several cars on the block were damaged.
A 38 year old from Mount Sinai, along with a 30-year-old man from Selden, and a 30-year-old woman, and an 8-year-old girl, were all transported to Stony Brook for treatment of their injuries. The 38-year-old from Mount Sinai, sustained the most serious injuries with injuries serious burn injuries, and a serious leg injury. The 30-year-old woman, and the 8-year-old girl were treated for minor injuries, and released from the hospital.
The investigation is continuing, and Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
