New Hurricane taking Long Island by Storm!!

As the summer is winding down, those beach days and day trips that families and friends saved for the last days of August, may have to be rescheduled until next year. A new hurricane called "Hurricane Erin" is a main topic as of late for weathermen/women. From the moments of Hurricane Katrina, or Sandy within the last decade, this storm has caused many damages and flooding across Long Island and the metropolitan area. Some city beaches have been closed on Friday and will be reopen on Sunday. As well as Long Island beaches, including "Robert Moses" and "Jones Beach" are temporarily closed due to safety concerns for citizens looking to catch a wave and attempt surfing for the first time. As a member of Long Island, this summer for the most part has been filled with heat and dry humidity. When rain storms and much worse arrive to the area, it is always known to stay inside safely and enjoy a "lazy day" as we are forced to cozy up and binge watch our favorite series on Netflix and etc. To all the workers who work outside in these conditions, we as members of this community, praise you for all of your dedication despite the unpredictable weather. The sunsets have been ending early as we approach the fall season. Enjoy these last summer memories before it is time to cut the turkey and hand out candy for the neighborhood kids. Let's make this weekend fun and finalize the summer of 2025!
