PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE: LOOK TWICE. SAVE A LIFE. — JUSTICE FOR LOGAN VOGEL

My name is Samantha Vogel, and I am Logan Vogel’s mother.

On August 21, 2024, my son Logan Vogel was killed in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Route 25A and Oakland Avenue in Miller Place, Long Island.

My son lost everything that night.

He lost his future.

I lost my child.

Our family was handed a lifetime sentence of grief.

Yet no charges were filed in connection with the crash that took Logan’s life.

That is something I live with every single day.

That is why, for me, motorcycle safety and Justice for Logan Vogel cannot be separated.

Logan wasn’t “just a motorcyclist.”

He was my son.

He was loved. He had a family, people who needed him, and an entire future ahead of him.

And he should have made it home.

I want every driver to remember this:

THERE IS A PERSON BEHIND THAT HELMET.

Before making a left turn — LOOK TWICE.

Before crossing an intersection — LOOK TWICE.

Before changing lanes — check your mirrors and blind spots.

Put down your phone. Stay alert. Give motorcycles space.

Because saying “I didn’t see the motorcycle” afterward cannot undo what happened.

It cannot bring back a life.

It cannot give a mother her child back.

And it cannot erase the consequences a family will live with forever.

I cannot change what happened to Logan.

But I can fight to make sure his life mattered.

I can fight for safer roads.

I can fight for greater motorcycle awareness.

I can fight for accountability.

And I can continue demanding Justice for Logan Vogel.

I am Logan’s mother.

I was his voice from the day he came into this world, and I will continue to be his voice now that he cannot speak for himself.

WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN.

WE WILL NOT BE SILENT.

WE WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING.
