STILL IN URGENT NEED OF FOSTER!
The saddest story you have ever heard! Sweet handsome Abel was adopted as a puppy in 2018. 3 years later, we heard from his adopters that they could no longer keep him. He had too much energy, they couldn't tire him out, and they had kids now. Stop me if you have heard this before. With help from the adopter, we were able to find a good situation for him at that time. Friends of theirs who had 3 acres, 2 other dogs, and the adopters could still occasionally see him. Perfect!
Fast forward 2 more years and the new adopter's fiance has abandoned her and the dogs. She has managed to find homes for 2 of the dogs; however, she is now jobless and, in one week, she and Abel will be homeless, sleeping in her car. In a selfless act, she reached out to us in hopes that we can find a new home for Abel so that he does not have to be homeless. She is truly more concerned for him than for herself.
Abel is a Great Dane/Catahoula Leopard mix, approximately 80 lbs, and about 5 years old. He is very energetic and will need a lot of exercise, so a fenced yard will be a big plus. He has lived with 2 other dogs and was good. He does enjoy playing with other dogs. He loves his ball more than anything. He knows some simple commands such as sit, paw, and roll over. He is loving, goofy, fun, and loyal. We do recommend no small children due to his size and exuberant play.
Abel has been through so much in his short life. It breaks our hearts that he has to be rehomed again. But our hearts are broken more at the thought of him homeless and sleeping in a car. We have 6 days, and we MUST find a good option for this sweet, deserving boy. If you can help, please reach out to me or anyone tagged on this post ASAP!
