Long Island Restaurant Week has returned and is inviting all daring diners to participate.
In its spring edition, the eight-day tri-annual promotion has now introduced four different prix-fixe options. These include a $22 two-course lunch, a $27 three-course dinner, a $37 three-course dinner, or a $44 three-course dinner prix fixe.
During the week-long promotion from Sunday, April 23 to Sunday, April 30, numerous restaurants in Nassau and Suffolk counties may provide any or all of the options mentioned. The offer is valid every day of the week, except for Saturdays after 7 p.m.
The two purposes of Restaurant Week are: 1) To assist small businesses in attracting more customers during an otherwise slow season, and 2) To give the public an opportunity to sample new restaurants they might not typically try.
To be included, restaurants must have prix-fixe menus featuring three appetizers, three main courses, and three dessert options. The restaurant categories available for selection are Italian, Latin, French, Mediterranean, Asian, BBQ, sushi bars, seafood restaurants, and steak houses.
It is advisable to make reservations at restaurants that offer the option. The agreement does not incorporate gratuity. Those in charge suggest a minimum 20% tip for the servers.
November and January provide extra opportunities for Long Island restaurant weeks.
