A man was stabbed by a woman in the presence of a child at a residence on Long Island.

An altercation between a couple in front of their 11-month-old child resulted in the woman being charged with assault for reportedly stabbing the man in the leg on Long Island.
On Wednesday, March 29, following the incident on Dunwood Road, 27-year-old Diana Alcivar Torres from Manorhaven was taken into custody.
At approximately 2:40 p.m., Nassau County Police Department detectives reported that Torres engaged in a verbal dispute with a 28-year-old male while their 11-month-old offspring looked on.
According to police, Torres intensified the dispute by taking hold of a kitchen knife and using it to wound the victim on their right leg.
According to authorities, Torres snatched the phone from the victim's hand while he was trying to call 911.
According to the police, the injured individual transported himself to a nearby hospital to receive medical attention.
Torres was apprehended at her residence without any untoward events.
She faced charges of Assault, Endangering a child's welfare, and Criminal possession of weapons.
On Thursday, March 30, Torres has a scheduled arraignment in Hempstead.
A family member has custody of the child.
