Kayaker rescued after medical emergency at Lake Ronkonkoma.
A 59-year-old man is recuperating following his rescue from a Long Island lake while kayaking.
Suffolk County Police reported that emergency teams were summoned around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22nd, due to a distressed kayaker at Lake Ronkonkoma.
Experiencing a medical crisis, the man's kayak started filling with water, leading a person on the shore to dial 911, as stated by the police.
A quartet of Suffolk County Police Department members swam out to the man and safely brought him back to the shore.
He was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
