Suspected Drug-Dealing Trio From Mastic Beach, Wading River, Riverhead Apprehended Following Investigation.
Law enforcement responded to community concerns and initiated an investigation, resulting in charges against three individuals accused of drug dealing in Long Island.
Riverhead Police report that, over the last two months, detectives received multiple reports about alleged drug activity near Peconic Crossing on West Main Street in Riverhead.
The investigation resulted in the apprehension of Wani Turner (49) from Mastic Beach, Damion Walker (46) from Wading River, and Monwell Wright (30) from Riverhead. According to police, both Turner and Walker have prior felony offenses.
Each individual, Wani Turner, Damion Walker, and Monwell Wright, faces a combination of misdemeanor and felony charges, encompassing the sale and possession of controlled substances.
In addition to drug-related charges, Damion Walker faces charges of tampering with evidence, obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest.
As part of the investigation, two Riverhead men in their 20s were charged with possession of a controlled substance. The collaborative efforts involved the Suffolk County District Attorney’s East End Drug Task Force, Riverhead Police Department Detective Bureau, Riverhead Police COPE Unit, Riverhead Police K-9 unit, and Riverhead Police Patrol.
