OAKDALE, NY — Her name is Promise, and behind that name is exactly what it sounds like: a promise that a difficult beginning doesn’t have to determine her future. ❤️

Just days ago, a Good Samaritan brought this tiny, sick and underweight kitten to an animal shelter looking desperately for help. The shelter was already overwhelmed with cats and kittens and didn’t have the space or resources to take her in.

That’s when The Silent Prayer, Inc. stepped in.

Today, Promise is safe, receiving the care she needs and finally getting the opportunity to simply be a kitten.

At only 8 weeks old, Promise is a beautiful dilute tortie domestic shorthair with a personality already shining through. She’s described as friendly, affectionate and a little purr machine.

Her rescuers chose the name Promise intentionally—a promise to give this little girl the care, love and stability she deserves and to help her find a wonderful forever family.

Her difficult beginning is only the first chapter of her story. Now she needs someone to help write the happy ending. 🐾❤️
