Long Island Man Busted For Driving High On Drugs, Crashing, Police Say

It has been reported that an individual from Long Island has been formally charged with driving while ability impaired (DWAI)/drugs and drug possession in relation to a single-vehicle accident.

On Tuesday, April 18 at approximately 2:30 p.m., an occurrence happened in the Hicksville location of 7 Newbridge Road within Nassau County.

According to police, Schlereth was discovered to have a transparent glass container containing a substance that appeared to be crack cocaine while under police custody.

According to the police, he has been taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and he is presently in a steady state. They stated that nobody else was hurt.

Schlereth was charged with:

  • DWAI drugs
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation
  • Unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

His arraignment is scheduled for April 19th, which falls on a Friday, in Hempstead.
