Road-Rage Murder: Man Kicks Victim To Death Following Collision, Long Island Police Say
According to law enforcement, a verbal dispute between the two drivers involved in a car accident escalated into a vicious killing.
According to officers, the intersection of Forest Avenue and Schuman Place in Baldwin was where the incident happened on the night of Saturday, April 15.
At around 10:50 p.m., Patrick Destine, a 26-year-old from Queens, reportedly crashed his Infiniti G35 into a Honda minivan while under the influence.
The police stated that Destine and the 54-year-old man driving the Honda got out of their cars and had a verbal argument following the collision.
Nevertheless, the situation took a physical turn as Destine reportedly launched a brutal attack on the man by relentlessly kicking him in the head, resulting in severe head injuries.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and declared dead on Sunday, April 16, shortly after midnight.
Destine is charged with:
- Driving while intoxicated
- Second-degree murder
The First District Court has a scheduled arraignment for him on Monday, April 17.
According to the police, the investigation is still in progress.
