My Ex-Mother In-Law Katherine O’Neill who is 97 years old, D.O. B. May 31 1928 and her son Arthur O’Neill Jr. 77 years old, who has been her Caregiver for years, live at

1189 Rosewood Rd. Goldsboro N.C 27530

It has come to my attention that Arthur has developed Dementia, which has gotten progressively worse in the past few months, making it almost impossible for him to take care of himself, let alone his 97-year-old mother. They reside in a rural area in Goldsboro which makes it extremely hard for him to purchase food and or the essentials for daily living without the use of a vehicle or the knowledge to safely operate such a vehicle. Arthur is well meaning and still has some lucid moments, but for the most part, he lives in the past and forgets even the simplest of things, one needs to sustain life and take care of anotherdependent Human being.

My son had reasonedly taken time to visit his grandmother and father, it was at this time we discovered the unimaginable, there was and had not been water, the house was infested with Rodents, maggots, flies, rotten food, toilets which were completely overflowing with dirty diapers and sewage. The refrigerator was crawling with rotten food which was maggotand roach infested, flies ect. were everywhere, the rotten food is what they had been living on.

The little dirty water they had, was from a little creek nearby. My Son and friends took days around the clock cleaning, disinfecting, fixing, replacing all toilets, cleaning out sinks,refrigerator, fixing broken pipes, replacing the essentials, food,water, diapers, Heat and AC. ect. While spending a couple weeks working there non stopped my son realized the severity of the problem with his father’s ability to handle everyday life.

After endless calls to reach out for help, Churches, Social Services for the Aged, The Military Bases, Wages for food, the Red Cross, Fema, Veterans Affairs, the Military bases, Crisis Interventions, American Legions, In-home Care, we called the sheriff’s Dep. Of Wayne County for direction, which led to a Wellness call, upon which the Sheriffs came and took Arthur and Katherine to Wayne County Hospital, devastating the two of them even further. At 2:30 Am, the very next morning they were released, “for such is the Law in N.C.” we were quoted.

After having been Assured that through this Wellness Call, we would be able to secure for them “In Home Care” and help.

As you can image instead of getting help and directions for these two Human beings, they were left confused, scared and UTTERLY devastated. As are We…

I Live in Florida and suffer with congestive Heart failure. I am doing the very best I can, I try to have food delivered as often as possible, but even that is not enough, I stay on the phone for hours, explaining and helping Arthur and Katherine, it is not enough they NEED in home care, they need someone taking care of them, they are wasting away and no one is willing to lend a helping hand.

Katherine’s Husband Arthur O’Neill Sr. fought in 3 World Wars; Korea, First World War; the 2nd World War, his sons Arthur Jr 77 and Dennis 75 (their sons) both fought in Vietnam.

These are people who have NEVER taken anything from anyone, on the contrary they have Always helped - wherever help was needed...!!!! We Need food and In Home Care for these two Human beings NOW !!!, They are ALONE !!! They have NO ONE helping them.

TIME is off the essence, They, are Literally starving to death while living conditions are quickly deteriorating…

Arthur Jr ( Care giver) is unable purchase or cook food and or care for his mother’s or his own needs. THEY NEED IN HOME CARE IMMEDIATLY…

I have called, written and cried out for HELP, only to be told repeatably, Help was not available. I have Called every Church of many denominations in Goldsboro and surrounding areas, only to be told, there is no help. I asked if someone could go and read the Bible to them, Again the same answer…..

THEY NEED HELP: No more waiting Lists, please there is so much more to this story, you can have the story Now, while they are still alive or God Forbid after something happens.
