37-year-old Man Killed on Saturday Night while Lightning Fireworks

Suffolk County Homicide Squad Detectives are investigating a fireworks accident that killed a man on the Fourth of July in Central Islip. 

Gabriel-Ruiz- Urresto was attempting to light a firework in the backyard of his residence located on East. Seymour Street in Central Islip when it exploded, and struck him in the head at approximately at 9:30 p.m. 

Ruiz-Urresto,37, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident, to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
