Woman Arrested for DWI After Crashing Through Home in Central Islip Saturday Night
Suffolk County Police arrested a 30-year-old woman from Central Islip Saturday night for DWI after she crashed through the front of the home of a house on Nostrand Avenue in Central Islip.
Estefany DeJesus was driving a 2002 BMW SUV southbound on Birchgrove Drive when she lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and crashed through the front of the front of a residence located at the intersection of Nostrand Avenue, and Birchgrove Drive at approximately 2:10 a.m.
Third Precinct officers arrived on scene, and determined that DeJesus was impaired. She was transported to South Shore University Hospital for evaluation. There were no injuries to the residences inside the home.
The Fire Marshall, and Town of Islip Building Inspector were on scene to assess damage to the home.
DeJesus 30, of Central Islip, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated. She was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 15.
