Woman Killed in Bay Shore House Fire Thursday Morning

The Suffolk County Homicide and Arson Squads are investigating a fatal house fire that claimed the life of a female victim early Thursday morning. Neighbors at a nearby residence called into 911 at approximately 1:40 in the morning on Thursday January 30, 2025, reporting a house fire at 1417 North Windsor Avenue in Bay Shore.

Three people were in the home at the time, and an adult female was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult male was transferred to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while the second male victim was not injured and remained at the scene.

The fire spread to two adjacent homes and was quickly contained with no injuries in the adjacent homes.

The identity of the female victim is pending confirmation by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, and the investigation is continuing. The Fire does not appear to be criminal in nature.
