Suffolk Police Make Arrest in Fatal 2022 Bay Shore Shooting

Suffolk County Police arrested an 18-year-old man for the shooting death of Linver-Ortiz Prince who was killed in a shooting on Saturday, September 17 2022 in Bay Shore. Third Precinct officers responded to a call of shots fired on that date in 2022 at 6 Holbrook Street in Bay Shore at 12:57 am. Upon arriving at the location, police found Ortiz-Prince in the parking lot suffering from gunshots. Ortiz-Prince, 29, of Ronkonkoma, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday February 9, 2024, an arrest was made as an 18-year-old man, who was 16 at the time of the shooting was arrested and charged with the murder. The youth’s name is being withheld in respect to his age at the time of the shooting.

The juvenile has been charged with 2nd degree Murder, and Kidnapping 1st degree.

The juvenile made his first appearance in the Youth section of First District Court in Central Islip
